I've put together a reading for you as a companion to the series "How Art Made the World" available on PBS. We watched a segment yesterday in class, and will be watching another segment today. I encourage you all to read this attachment and notate it.
On Wednesday we will be watching the following episode from "How Art Made the World." If you will not be in class, please take time to watch it on your own time. :)
You will want to register for a Khan account and begin going through the required material for the first content area (Global Prehistory)

Hope you had a great long weekend. Thinking about art? Here is a great film you should take the time to watch called National Gallery by famed documentary filmmaker Frederick Wiseman. It may give you good insight on the world of art and looking at art. I've posted an assignment on our assignments page (to read an article linked in the assignment) before Wednesday. I want you to continue to research the four works of art that I presented to you and think about their intended function and their "new" classification as art, and be ready to connect them to the discussion on the Miner article I have posted as your assignment. Thursday Mrs. McConnell will be coming in to talk about easybib and how to prepare your paper. I'll also post the powerpoint with the four pieces of artwork that I showed you on Wednesday. And… summer work should be completed by now for most of you, if you have NOT done it - see me ASAP. I will only accept it until Wednesday 9/9 - after that it will be a 0 for those of you who got the summer packet in June.
